- acting
During a summer respite with family, David won a role as Henry Lodge in Move over Mrs. Markham at The Red Barn, a local summer stock theatre. The “acting bug” was now solidified. A natural performer, Dorn went on to join the Farrell Theatre Troupe and perform at The Organic Theater in Chicago playing W.D. in Bonnie and Clyde WANTED. This original play was first improvised and then co-written by the theater troup. Dorn’s emotionally filled performance garnered recognition that secured him acting representation and in turn yielded a successful run with appearances in television commercials, shows and short films to this day.
- modeling
After receiving a Studio Fine Arts degree, Dorn’s free spirit led him on an adventure to Miami. While working as a store clerk at “Wings of Steel” a Harley shop tucked away in South Beach, he yielded a bigger adventure than imagined when scouted by one of the world’s premiere modeling agencies, Elite Models. This allowed him the opportunity of jaunting all over the world from LA to Paris appearing in editorials, print campaigns & walking the runway for some of the world’s top designers including Armani, Zegna, Corneliani and appearing in Mondo Uomo and L’uomo Vogue.
- art
For David being creative is everything. Self expression has been a way of life sense walking into a 3-d sculpture class the fall semester of his sophomore year in collage. With one faithful led step, his life forever changed. "I was struggling in school & frankly always had till I made art the focuse of my life. After committing my self to a studio fine arts degree, a whole new way of viewing the world opened up. It didn't make anything automatically easier. It just gave me a connection to the moment of life it self I hadn't yet found other wise. When I'm being creative, I just seem to be able slow things down, listen deeper, feel connected & take in more of the moment."
